A Thought On Content Development

"Content is king!" You hear that mantra everywhere you go. King of what? I understand the "nothing is more important" part of that, but the expression doesn't offer a clue about how one's content becomes a king.

I like an element of surprise, something that is a bit unexpected, that immediately captures the reader/viewer's attention and holds them right through to the very last word, image or frame.

Sometimes I get the impression that everyone is creating content for the sole purpose of impressing others. Frankly, I'm unimpressed more than impressed lately. Yeah, and I think that goes for some of "my stuff" too.

Watch this.

I was impressed. Bubbles on the beach isn't rocket surgery or brain science. It's an uncomplicated effort to share something exciting, perhaps new but certainly engaging. Everyone on the beach is connecting with what's going on in some personal way.

Am I reading too much into this little clip? I don't know. It made me stop. It made me think. It provoked me to take action.

It made me smile. Did it touch you in some way too?
